Collection of three popular thrillers. Shoot 'em Up' (2007) stars Clive Owen as Smith, a down-and-out squatter with both an extensive military background and a fondness for carrots, who wants nothing more than to be left alone. Smith finds himself embroiled in a complex political conspiracy once he aids a pregnant woman who is being chased by a hitman. He takes the baby and goes on the run with a prostitute (Monica Bellucci). The unlikely family is trailed by the intelligent and ruthless Hertz (Paul Giamatti) and his army of thugs. In 'Menace II Society' (1993), despite his violent and unsettled upbringing in the poverty-stricken Watts area of Los Angeles, Caine (Tyrin Turner) dreams of going to college or moving to Atlanta with his girlfriend Ronnie (Jada Pinkett Smith). However, on a visit to a local grocery store with homeboy O-Dog (Larenz Tate), Caine becomes involved in a series of brutal killings and his dreams of escaping his violent background evaporate immediately. Finally, 'American History X' (1998) stars Edward Norton as Derek Vinyard, an angry young man seeking retribution for the murder of his father. Derek becomes the leader of a skinhead white-power movement, espousing racist views to his peers and using his intelligence to stir up as much race-hate as possible. Derek's actions culminate in murder and he is jailed. Three years later his girlfriend (Fairuza Balk) and brother Danny (Edward Furlong) await his release, but discover that Derek is a changed man, ashamed of his past and no longer driven by hatred. However, the consequences of his actions still haunt Derek's family and the threat of a return to violence is never far away.
