A couple are found murdered, and the sole witness is their autistic nine year old son Tim (Ben Faulkner). The one man who can help the boy reveal his childhood memories is once-prominent child psychiatrist Jack Rainer (Richard Dreyfus). However, after the death of one of his previous patients, Rainer has closed his practice and his marriage is on the verge of collapse. His relationship with Tim offers hope of redemption - both personal and professional - but is fraught with danger. Directed by Bruce Beresford.
