Synopsis

Frank Langella stars as aging author Leonard Schiller in this drama adapted from the novel by Brian Morton. Having spent the past ten years working on his last book, Frank finds himself forgotten in the literary world. He is approached by graduate student Heather Wolfe (Lauren Ambrose) who wishes to use him as a subject for her thesis and therefore reawaken public interest in his novels. Despite his reluctance Leonard agrees to be interviewed by Heather, gradually revealing more about his life. Meanwhile, Leonard is concerned about his daugher Ariel (Lili Taylor) whose desire to have a child leads her to break up with her boyfriend. When she and old flame Casey Davis (Adrian Lester) get back together, Leonard disapproves, putting his already troubled relationship with his daughter under more strain.
