Synopsis

In 1943 this 20th Century Fox title stood as a true novelty, one of the few  films made by a major studio to feature a predominantly black cast. Based upon the life and times of Bill ‘Bojangles’ Robinson, a talented dancer who rose to fame after World War One, the film features notable performances from Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, Ada Brown, Lena Horne and the fabulous Nicholas Brothers (who demonstrate some of the most impressive choreography ever committed to film). A complete joy from start to finish, brimming with talent and enthusiasm, this film is a one-of-a-kind showcase of what made these artists so special.
