Take Me Out To The Ball Game Film Poster

In the 1890s, a woman takes over an ailing baseball outfit, overcoming the inevitable testosterone-fuelled hostility of the players to lead them to success. Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly are a pair of Vaudeville hoofers caught between their duty to the team and the lure of stage stardom. Busby Berkeley directed the dialogue scenes, but quit before the musical segments, leaving them to Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly, who used them to experiment with the innovative dancing movements they used to fuller effect in 'On the Town'.
