A trilogy of love stories based on the short stories of well known American novelists. The first film, 'A Domestic Dilemma' is directed by Kristi Zea. Martin Meadows (Ray Liotta) returns home to finally confront his wife's (Andie MacDowell) drinking problem which is threatening to harm their children. The second film, 'Return to Kansas' (directed by Walter Bernstein) sees up-and-coming boxer Eddie (Matt Dillon) being pressured by his wife (Kyra Sedgwick) into entering a big payday fight although he is not ready. Finally 'Mara', based on a Henry Miller story and directed by Mike Figgis, has writer Henry (Scott Glenn) befriending Maria (Juliette Binoche), a beautiful prostitute who has never been treated with respect until she met Henry.
