Double bill of British crime thrillers from the 1950s. 'The Blue Parrot' (1953), directed by John Harlow, follows an investigation into a murder at a nightclub. The owner of the club and her American boyfriend are the prime suspects and may have to solve the mystery of the murder themselves if they are to avoid conviction for the crime. 'Burnt Evidence' (1954), directed by Daniel Birt, stars Duncan Lamont and Jane Hylton as a married couple whose tumultuous relationship leads them into trouble with the law. When Jack Taylor (Lamont) discovers that his wife Diana (Hylton) is having an affair it leads to a violent confrontation in which Jack shoots his wife's lover. The panicked Jack flees the scene, but will he be able to elude the police?
