Documentary film about a Seattle girls basketball team. The Roosevelt Roughriders basketball team is possessed of an extraordinary level of dedication and skill and a coach, Bill Resler, with a slightly unorthodox character and methods. Bill, a Birkenstock wearing character resembling Santa, is a college professor by day and the riders' dedicated, determined coach by night. This documentary follows the fortunes of one girl, Darnellia Russell, who came into the team one day. Darnellia, as well as an unshakeable determination to play ball, has a chequered past - one that threatens her position on the team constantly. The team and Coach Resler's support of Darnellia in her fight to stay in the game forms the nucleus of this heart-wrenching documentary.
