Synopsis

Part of the 'History of Warfare' series, this documentary looks at the events surrounding the momentous Peasants' Revolt of 1381, when the English peasantry protested against crippling taxes and poverty. Fired up by the charismatic Wat Tyler and John Ball, the peasant army reached the gates of London, only to see the promises made by Richard II broken and their cause betrayed.
