Part of the epic documentary series examining the origins and development of the Holocaust and Nazi Germany's attempt to destroy the European Jewish population. This volume looks at Majdanek, one of the most brutal camps in the Nazi system. Jews were in fact outnumbered in this camp by Poles, Slavs, Ukranians, and others rounded up by the Nazi military machine. Almost two million inmates suffered in Majdanek, where Zyklon B gas was used to poison victims in the gas chambers. Also included here is rare archive footage of a post-war Russian tribunal, where camp survivors are seen giving evidence against captured SS guards and officers.
