Double bill of films starring Jessie Matthews. In the musical 'Gangway' (1937) a feisty London newspaper reporter gets herself an assignment aboard a liner bound for New York. She falls madly in love with a police officer who is tracking a jewel thief known only as 'Sparkle'. At the same time, she becomes involved with a group of gangsters who think that she is 'Sparkle'. In the comedy 'Climbing High' (1938) wealthy aristocrat Nicky Brooke (Michael Redgrave) falls in love with the West-End model Diana Castles (Matthews), despite his engagement to Lady Constance Westaker (Margaret Vyner). To try and win Diana's affection, Nicky abandons his comfortable lifestyle, changes his name and pretends to be poor. Will his charade be enough to woo Diana?
