Synopsis

Gregory Peck stars in this 1950s drama about a man struggling to find meaning in his life. While working as a speechwriter for the president of a TV company, former army officer Tom Rath (Peck) begins to question the way his life has turned out. Married with a wife (Jennifer Jones) and children, he discovers that he fathered an illegitimate child while in Italy during the war. Now, determined to face up to his responsibilities at home and overseas, and seeing the effect the hectic lifestyle and materialistic culture is having on his friends and work colleagues, Tom begins to make some key changes in his life.
