During the Second World War, a British Commando Brigade sets out on a daring raid against a German-held harbour in occupied France. Unfortunately, they are unaware that Nazi agents have infiltrated the group and know of the plans. Originally made as a training film to warn against the Fifth Columnists (Nazi spies and saboteurs working undercover in Britain), the film was given a theatrical release to get the message across to the public. Winston Churchill wanted to ban the film as it seemed to be a threat to morale, but he was eventually convinced that the message - that anyone could be a Nazi spy - had to be heard.
