Double bill featuring two action movies. 'The Punisher' (2004) is the second big-screen version of the 1970s Marvel comic strip. Frank Castle (Tom Jane) is a retired FBI agent spurred into action after the merciless revenge killing of his wife, father, and son. Despite his lack of special powers (unlike his fellow Marvel characters), Castle nevertheless adopts the superhero guise of The Punisher, and sets out to avenger his dead family by tracking down the culprits responsible for their demise. All clues point to Howard Saint (John Travolta), a ruthless businessman and nightclub owner whose young son was mistakenly killed by Castle in a botched undercover operation back in his FBI days. 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico' (2003) is a sprawling South American action-adventure from Mexican director Roberto Rodriguez. Rogue CIA agent Sands (Johnny Depp) finds himself having to recruit the services of the legendary vigilante El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) in order to prevent an assasination attempt on the Mexican president. Although Mariachi has been in hiding since the death of his lover (Salma Hayek), Sands manages to persuade him to help him because they will be fighting a common enemy; General Marquez, who is leading the assassination attempt and with whom Mariachi has a score to settle.
