Synopsis

Volume 18 of the documentary series, in two parts, examining two of the Axis powers' greatest defeats. At Midway in 1942 the United States inflicted one of the greatest naval defeats in history on the Japanese, destroying their carrier fleet and ensuring that the USA could begin the recapture of the Pacific. At the West Wall, a vast series of fortified positions nicknamed the 'Siegfried Line' by British and American troops, Hitler gambled on being able to stop the Allied armies in 1945, only to see his hopes crumble.
