French drama in which a trade unionist becomes involved with an investigation into the burglary of his house. Michel (Jean-Pierre Darroussin) is a union leader of tremendous integrity who sacrifices his own job to try and save others, after the company he works for announces that it is downsizing. When his house is subsequently broken into, relieving his family of many of their prized possessions, Michel is naturally upset - particularly when he discovers that a fellow member of his union is responsible for the crime. He reports the man to the police, but soon discovers the misfortune that drove the man to commit the crime and comes to regret acting in haste. Will Michel be able to make things right?
