Synopsis

Documentary written, directed and produced by Joanna Lipper. The film explores the fight for women's rights that took place in Nigeria after the country's liberation. Lipper speaks to Hafsat Abiola, the daughter of Nigerian businessman, politician and one-time presidential candidate MKO Abiola, who recounts the work that her father undertook with the help of her mother Kuidirat to bring hope and democracy to Nigeria; even as his authority was being put into question by the country's military powers.
