Canadian drama in which an idealistic young man rebels against the brutality of his employer. When Martin (Craig Olejnik) takes up employment laying railway track in remote Canadian territory, he is woefully unprepared for the conditions he will face. It is the early 1960s and employment laws appear to have little or no bearing on the fearsome camp foreman Fisk (Stephen McHattie). Not only does Fisk treat the workers like slaves and exile those who resist him, but he expects Martin to collude in this. When Martin stands up to him he quickly finds himself living on scraps along with his fellow outcasts, Scully (Roy Dupois) and Grease (Julian Richings). So far away from civilisation, the three seem to have no escape, but can Martin hatch a plan to win freedom?
