Romantic drama based on the memoir 'One Who Walked Alone' written by Novalyne Price about her brief affair with pulp-fiction writer Robert E. Howard. Renee Zellweger plays the ambitious West Texas schoolteacher who is drawn romantically to Howard (Vincent D'Onofrio) despite his unconventional attachment to his sick mother and his other emotional troubles.

Contains mild language and sex references, and a suicide theme.
