Triple pack containing all three volumes from the US drama series about the pressures encountered by an incoming family into a religious township in New York state in the 1800s. In 'Pillar of Light' as the Steed family tries to integrate into their new community of Palmyra, relations with townsfolk become strained when a hired help (Jonathan Scarfe) finds himself at the centre of a religious storm. Matters are worsened when two of the family's sons (Eric Johnson and Alexander Carroll) fall for the same daughter (Tiffany Dupont) of a local merchant (Jim Grimshaw), and wind up on either side of the religious divide. Trying to avoid the mounting tension, the family soon finds itself bound even closer to the town and having to question their own family loyalties. In 'American Zion' with members of the church now being openly targeted, a young man with a vision leads his people into the west, seeking a sanctuary. In 'A House Divided' as Joshua Steed (Johnson) returns to Missouri with his new wife, he soon encounters problems when he's placed at the head of an army, raised by Governer Boggs, that plans to deal with 'the Mormon problem'. It's not long before rising tensions cause deep divisions within the family, testing family loyalties and trust.
