Drama set around the events of the Spanish Civil War which examines the relationship of two men to a religious figure on the verge of sainthood. Robert (Dougray Scott) is a Spanish journalist who has an interest in the life of Josemaria Escrivá (Charlie Cox), founder of the religious organisation Opus Dei and said by many to be on the verge of canonisation. Robert is intrigued to learn during his investigation that his father, Manolo (Wes Bentley), knew Josemaria personally during the fraught days of the Spanish Civil War and sets out to learn more about the nature of their relationship.
