Synopsis

Ken Annakin directs this classic drama starring James Fox and Gert Fröbe. In the early days of flight, wealthy Lord Rawnsley (Robert Morley) offers £10,000 in prize money for the winners of a London to Paris air race. Intending to prove that British means best, Rawnsley puts his faith in Royal Navy Lieutenant Richard Mays (Fox), but other competitors, including German Colonel Manfred von Holstein (Fröbe) and caddish English gent Sir Percy Ware-Armitage (Terry-Thomas), are determined to prove their own worth.
