Wry comedy with touches of magical realism from Spanish director Laura Mañá. The village of San Hilario used to make its living from giving wonderful funerals, and people came there from all over Spain to die with panache and style. But business has dried up over recent years owing to the pace of modern life and the need for quick funerals. Thus the village is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Germán Cortés, a new client who has expressed his wish to live out his last days in the village. The inhabitants prepare to pull out all the stops in order to showcase their talents and thereby save the business and the village itself. But things get complicated when Germán dies before reaching his destination, and the good people of San Hilario end up mistakenly welcoming an escaped bank robber instead...
