Four modern-day classics of computer animation from Pixar and Walt Disney. 'Toy Story' paints the colourful life of the supposedly inanimate playthings that occur whenever children aren't watching them. Pull-string cowboy Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) has been the favoured toy of young Andy for ages. But brand new toy Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) arrives, and Andy just wants to play his new space-ranger doll. Jealous of the charismatic Buzz, Woody accidentally engineers Buzz's fall into the garden and a rescue must be attempted. Eventually their attempts to return to Andy's room they forge a unique friendship. 'Toy Story 2' sees pull-string cowboy Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) kidnapped by toy collector Al, who plans to sell him to a Japanese toy museum. Assisted by Mr Potato Head, Slinky Dog and Rex the Dinosaur, action figure Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) sets off to the rescue, but when they get to Al's store Buzz is mistakenly boxed up and his place taken by a new, flashier Lightyear model - and worse has to face his old nemesis, Zoltan. Meanwhile, Woody has discovered that he was once the star of a popular children's television show, and isn't sure that he wants to return to Andy's toy cupboard. In 'A Bug's Life' the ant colony of a tiny island are annually forced to hand over their midsummer grain to a marauding band of grasshoppers, led by the evil Hopper (voiced by Kevin Spacey). Worker ant Flik (Dave Foley) sets off to get help from the big city, where he mistakes a troupe of circus bugs for fierce warriors. After being fired by their ringmaster, P.T. Flea (John Ratzenberger), the bugs accompany Flik back to his home, thinking that he is a talent scout. When all becomes clear, they are less than happy at the prospect of fighting off Hopper and his gang! Finally, in 'Monster's Inc' Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and sidekick Mike (voiced by Billy Crystal) are the top scaring team on the job. Their daily task is to keep Monstropolis ticking over, running it on the power generated by children screaming - a production line of assorted terrifying monsters are sent to appear in front of children by passing into Earth through special dimensional portals then bottling the screams thus produced. Living under the commonplace that children are toxic, dangerous creatures who must be kept out of Monstropolis at all costs, Mike and Sully are terrified when they realise that a little girl called 'Boo' has followed them back through a door. Slowly they realise that little Boo isn't actually dangerous at all and uncover a sinister plot that exists behind Monsters Inc's happy facade, involving creepy arch-rival scarer Randall (voiced by Steve Buscemi).
