Turkish romantic drama centred around two generations of couples. In modern day Turkey, teacher Yunus (Atilgan Gumus) and his wife Dilek (Yagmur Kasifoglu) leave their comfortable life to open a school in nearby Kazakhstan. Although his wife is reluctant to leave and fearful of moving to a different country, Yunus consoles her with his vision of bringing a better standard of education to the children of Kazakhstan. Still unconvinced and disheartened by the state of her new home, Dilek seeks advice from her elderly aunt Cennet (Sema Ceyrekbasi) who opens up about the struggles of her life during the Second World War. The story begins with her marriage ceremony in the 1940s, but the tale turns tragic when her new husband Niyaz (Fikret Hakan) is forced to fight in the Soviet Red Army. Divided by war, the couple vow to wait for each other in the hope of being reunited when the chaos eventually ends. But will the story of Dilek's ancestors prove enough to convince her of her husband's noble plans?
