1940s adventure drama from film maker Cecil B. DeMille starring Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard. After being accused of a felony, Abigail (Goddard) is sentenced to 14 years of slavery in America. Captain Christopher Holden (Cooper) wins Abigail at auction and later releases her, much to the anger of the villainous Martin Garth (Howard da Silva) who wanted her for himself. Garth captures Abigail and heads for the western frontier where he is engaged in illegal practices, and planning to take over the Ohio Valley. It is up to Holden to save Abigail and put a stop to Garth's schemes.
