Stuck in a small Welsh village, and living under the domineering influence of her Pavarotti-impersonating father Jack (Jonathan Pryce), Annie Mary (Rachel Griffiths) dreams of breaking free and finding a life of her own. But when Jack has a stroke and Annie is forced to look after him, she finds that she has even less time for herself. Then, when she finally does gather the courage to rebel, it seems like the whole village wants to get involved.
