The Kirov Opera Chorus and Orchestra, conducted by Valery Gergiev, perform Prokofiev's opera in thirteen acts. Set during the Napoleonic wars, it tells the story of Natasha (Yelena Prokina), in love with Prince Andrei Bolkonsky (Alexandr Gergalov). When she is rejected by Andrei's family, she turns to the rogueish Anatol (Yuri Marushin). Anatol's sister, Hélène (Olga Borodina), encourages the affair. She is married to Pierre (Gegam Gregoriam), who is also secretly in love with Natasha.
