Synopsis

Jennifer Jason Leigh stars in this adaptation of a Henry James novel, revolving around the age old conflict between love and money. Catherine (Leigh) is the beautiful daughter of a wealthy but controlling father (Albert Finney). When she falls in love with the dashing Morris Townsend (Ben Chaplin), her father, suspicious of Townsend's intentions, threatens to disown her. Should Catherine risk losing her inheritance and her family for love?
