WWII musical starring and loosely based on the life of Vera Lynn. Peggy Brown (Lynn) is a dancer in World War II London who is surprised to find, when she embarks on an impromptu sing-along to entertain those seeking refuge in an air raid shelter, that people enjoy her singing voice as well. When another accident of sorts sees Peggy sing on a record that ends up being played on BBC radio, she is even more surprised to find that the whole country loves her voice and that she is offered her own radio show. Things aren't all rosy for Peggy, though. She is in love with a Scottish soldier, Bruce McIntosh (Donald Gray), but he only has eyes for her best friend, Ruth (Patricia Roc). Success may have found Peggy, but will she find happiness?
