Challenging drama from filmmaker Sally Potter, exploring the relationship between East and West at the turn of the 21st century. Joan Allen plays 'She', an American woman who leaves a loveless marriage and starts a passionate affair with 'He' (Simon Abkarian), a Lebanese doctor who escaped from Beirut and now works as a cook. As their affair progresses, their assumptions about sexuality, morality and ethics are challenged. Also starring Shirley Henderson and Sam Neill, with the dialogue being spoken entirely in verse.
