Back in 1995 Robin Williams and a very young Kirsten Dunst were fighting off wild animals in "Jumanji", the live-action / CGI take on Chris Van Allsberg's book. A decade later and this take a new board game takes a pair of brothers on an interstellar adventure in "Zathura". The action centres on six-year-old Danny (Jonah Bobo) and his surly older brother, ten-year-old Walter (Josh Hutcherson) who are left extremely bored when their Dad has to pop to work for an hour one Saturday. With their teenage sister asleep upstairs, the boys entertain themselves with a game Danny finds in the cellar, 'Zathura: A Space Adventure'. After just one roll of the dice the game hurls the boys - and the entire house - into the depths of space where they encounter dangerous aliens, deranged robots and a hungry astronaut (Dax Shepard). And they have to complete the deadly game before they can get home.When "Jumanji" first reached our screens it was hailed for its cutting edge CGI effects and family appeal. Admittedly "Zathura" may not be quite as groundbreaking; it's every bit as much fun as its predecessor as the boys face one terrifying hazard after another. Some of the action may be a bit too much for younger viewers - after all the BBFC do warn that the movie includes "fantasy action and peril" - but those around Walter's age should love it as these pint sized heroes pull together while their home fall apart around them.As with any film of this kind, there are lessons to be learned and rather sickly-sweet moments to contend with but, if you can navigate those safely, you could well be on your way to a winner with "Zathura".

googleTrackerHelper.doTrackPage( '/'Zathura-A-Space-Adventure-film_options~12715'/Reviews/ViewAll/1' );"}
