"Zoolander" must have been a labour of love – albeit a well paid one! – for Ben Stiller. The star of "Meet The Parents" and "There’s Something About Mary" not only plays the part of the world’s greatest supermodel Derek Zoolander, he actually co-created the spoof character for a fashion awards show five years ago and also produced, directed and co-wrote the film, which no doubt explains why his wife ("The Brady Bunch Movie" star Christine Taylor) is the leading lady, and his dad, mom and sister also appear!Voted Male Model of the Year three times in a row Zoolander’s world is knocked of its axis when he is denied the title for a fourth time by newcomer Hansel (Owen Wilson, who also appeared with Stiller in "Meet The Parent" and starred in "Shanghai Noon" with Jackie Chan). After realising his decision to turn his back on the world of fashion in order to work as a coal miner wasn’t such a great idea he returns to Manhattan to try and regain his crown, but, without him realising it, things don’t go quite according to plan…Not surprisingly this over the top comedy is hardly the most intelligent movie ever made, and many of the pot-shots taken at the world of fashion are fairly predictable (dumb supermodels oblivious to the world around them, Milla Jovovich’s comic role as a villainess sidekick who is repulsed by any off-the-rack department store clothing!). However predictable doesn’t necessarily mean unfunny, and the sheer stupidity of the film adds to the fun, with enough laughs throughout to guarantee you wont leave the cinema disappointed.

googleTrackerHelper.doTrackPage( '/'Zoolander-film_options~14959'/Reviews/ViewAll/1' );"}
