Not since "Grease" hit screens in the 70's have youngsters been so excited about musicals, but now thanks to the "High School Musical" phenomenon musicals are cooler than ever and there's even a lucrative range of merchandise to prove it.While "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" is the third and apparently final film in the trilogy, it's also the first to be released in cinemas. The original film, aptly named "High School Musical" began as an experimental piece of programming on the Disney Channel. But I digress, there is more to the mayhem than the story of success, there is also the erm, plot. "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" is all about, erm, senior year. Yes, everyone's favourite Disney students have big decisions to make, what college will they go to? What do they want to be? And who will they take to the prom? By far the biggest dilemmas fall on Troy (heart throb Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens). The latter, being offered an early admission to Stanford University that would lead her away from her beloved Troy. While multi-talented Troy is grappling with which talent to pursue - a basketball scholarship or a future in performing arts? Underlying such dilemmas is the senior year musical where students must participate as themselves. While there isn't much to the story itself, "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" portrays those wantonly utopian values in a way that only Disney can do. Everyone is good looking, wholesome and talented, but any thoughts of resisting this devilish-combo are hastily halted by the all grinning, all singing, all dancing tsunami of youthful enthusiasm. I sat through this experience like a lactose intolerant participant at a cheese tasting festival.Yes these kids are talented, but they are also maniacal and should come with a health warning.

googleTrackerHelper.doTrackPage( '/'High-School-Musical-3-Senior-Year-film_options~36325'/Reviews/ViewAll/1' );"}
