Triple-bill of teen comedies. '13 Going on 30' (2004) is a comic fantasy starring Jennifer Garner as Jenna Rink, a typical awkward adolescent, constantly dreaming of being popular and accepted as part of the in-crowd at school. During her thirteenth birthday party, she finds herself sitting alone and humiliated in a dark closet after being rejected during a teenage kissing game - and fervently wishes that there might be some way to avoid the trials and tribulations of the teenage years that stretch so cruelly and inevitably ahead of her. When she emerges, she gets the surprise of her life: she's popular, beautiful, successful - and days away from her 30th birthday. The only problem is, her mind has not matured to match her new womanly body, career or love-life. In 'Legally Blonde' (2001), Beverly Hills sorority queen Elle (Reese Witherspoon) is shocked when her boyfriend Warner (Matthew Davis) takes her out for a meal and then dumps her, saying that because he is about to attend Harvard Law School, he should now start dating a more serious-minded woman. Elle refuses to take this lying down and follows Warner to Harvard, enrolling herself in the law school and taking on the bookworms in an all-out contest of designer-wardrobed Malibu frivolity versus mean-spirited Ivy League ambition. When Elle and Warner then begin working as interns in a prestigious law firm, the California girl gets a chance to prove her worth by defending a fitness instructor who has been accused of murder. Finally, in 'Saved!' (2003), Mary (Jena Malone) and Hilary (Mandy Moore) are the queen bees at the American Eagle Christian School. However, when Mary's boyfriend has doubts about his sexuality, Mary sacrifices her virginity in order to keep him on the straight and narrow. It's too late, though, and when Mary becomes pregnant, she is shunned by her Christian classmates and befriended by the school's outcasts.
