A selection of live action and animated shorts featured in the BAFTA awards 2013. Johnny Barrington's 'Tumult' (2011) follows a group of battle-weary Norse warriors journeying across an unfamiliar landscape, who suddenly encounter an unexpected 'tribe'. Will Anderson's animation 'The Making of Longbird' (2011) centres on the efforts of an animator to resolve conflicts with his creation. In Fyzal Boulifa's 'The Curse' (2012), a young Moroccan girl hurriedly returns to her village when her secret desert rendezvous with her lover is discovered by a young boy. Lynne Ramsay's animation 'Swimmer' (2012) journeys through the thoughts and feelings of an endurance swimmer as he navigates Britain's waterways. In Kris Kelly's animation 'Here to Fall' (2012), a girl's life is thrown into turmoil when she receives a distressing phone call from her father. In Muriel d'Ansembourg's 'Good Night' (2012), two teenage girls on a night out find the streets of London can be a dangerous place. Finally, Eamonn O'Neill's animation 'I'm Fine Thanks' (2012) follows the trials of life that befall a young man with a difficult childhood.
