Thought-provoking drama from Denmark. Successful professional soldier Michael (Ulrich Thomsen) has a beautiful wife (Connie Nielsen) and two loving daughters, while his brother Jannik (Nicolaj Lie Kaas) is a drifter living on the edge of the law. When Michael is sent to Afghanistan on a UN peacekeeping mission, he is reported as missing in action, presumed dead. His wife Sarah is comforted by Jannik, who decides to reform his life and begins taking care of Michael's family. Jannik and Sarah find their realtionship growing closer and more intimate, but neither of them is prepared when Michael unexpectedly returns from his captivity in Afghanistan, psychologically scarred after having been brutally tortured.
