Documentary using genuine archive footage to explore the history of the Chinese-Japanese conflict during the Second World War, starting with the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1931. Realising the war was going badly, General Chiang Kai-Shek was forced into an alliance with his communist rival Mao Tse-Tung, an alliance that would have great repercussions for China after Japan's defeat.
