Late 1940s British comedy starring Jimmy Hanley and Petula Clark. Upon his release from jail, Harry Denton (Edward Rigby) attempts to prove he is still as crooked as ever by abducting Sheila (Clark), the teenage daughter of famous actor Michael Farlaine (Hugh Sinclair). Things do not go according to plan, however, when Sheila appears to be glad of the excitement and experience of being held to ransom. Her father, as well as her friend, Jimmy (Anthony Newley), are also enjoying the attention they are receiving as a result of the kidnapping. At the same time, Denton's grandson, Jack (Hanley), is worried he will become embroiled in the affair and becomes determined to return Sheila to her family...
