Box set of the first 4 films of this cult/adult series starring Sylvia Kristel. In 'Emmanuelle' (1974) beautiful newlywed Emmanuelle (Kristel) tires of life in Thailand with her ambassador husband and embarks on a series of sexual adventures. Keen to learn the intricacies of sexual desire, she places herself under the tutelage of the elderly Mario, and starts off down a path which leads her to new heights of physical ecstasy. French President Georges Pompidou tried unsuccessfully to ban this film, which later became a cult and France's all-time top grossing film. 'Emmanuelle 2' (1975) the sexual adventuress returns to her husband, Jean, following their two-month separation. Each has learned much of life and love, but further unexplored territory is revealed when one of Jean's friends introduces Emmanuelle to the infamous 'Jade Garden'. 'Emmanuelle 3' (1977) sees Emmanuelle and her husband continue their exotic odyssey, journeying to the Seychelles for more of their trademark sensual adventuring. This time however, Emmanuelle falls in love with a film director and this makes her husband show some very unswinging signs of jealousy. Features the music of Serge Gainsbourg. Finally, in 'Emmanuelle 4' (1983) Emmanuelle is on the run from her former lover Marc. She arrives in Brazil, where she meets Doctor Santamo and undergoes an operation which transforms her into a different woman (Mia Nygren). Her new identity allows her to experience yet another sexual awakening, but memories of Marc still haunt her.
