Four-part BBC documentary series looking at the armed conflicts and insurrections fought by Britain in the years following the end of the Second World War, when the British Empire was being gradually dismantled. Various communist and nationalist groups saw the chance to seize power in colonies that were about to gain their independence, and the British army fought many successful campaigns against the guerillas. Includes interviews with former soldiers, politicians, terrorists and intelligence experts who served in the conflicts, as well as archive footage and news material. Episodes are: 'Kenya: The Hunt for Kimathi'; 'Aden: Mad Mitch and His Tribal Law'; 'Malaya: The Intelligence War'; and 'Palestine: The Jewish War'.
