Psychological thriller. Struggling atrist Nick Parker (Henry Thomas) pays the bills by giving drawing classes to the elderly. Living in a squalid Brooklyn apartment, Nick avoids contact with his family, including his estranged sister Charlotte (Teri Hatcher). When the murder of Nick's landlord sets off a disturbing chain of events, Nick begins to question whether these events are actually real, or whether they are a product of his psychological breakdown, brought about by his poverty and isolation.
