1938, a small village in Sudetenland. The saw mill owner Habermann is the biggest employer in his village and married to Jana, a young and beautiful Czech woman, who is half Jewish. Although Habermann is not interested in politics or ideology, he and his family will be steamrollered by the insanity of World War II. Based on a true story, the film shows a man and his family absorbed by the insanity of war with a historical take on a specific period during World War II, noted for the expulsion of Sudeten Germans in the border between Germany an Czechoslovakia.
