Harishchandrachi Factory Film Poster

Award-winning Marathi-language drama portraying the origins of Indian cinema in the early 20th century. Nandu Madhav stars as part-time magician and photographer Dadasaheb Phalke, whose feature-length silent film 'Raja Harishchandra' marked the birth of the Indian film industry. Having initially viewed the moving picture medium a few years earlier in 1911, Phalke resolves to learn the new technology and - armed only with his infectious charisma and unflagging determination - travels to London to acquire the skills that will enable him to realise his dream.
