A engrossing film about the world’s first all-girl punk band, who formed in London in 1976. Contemporaries of The Clash and The Sex Pistols, The Slits are the pioneering godmothers of punk. Fronted by the irrepressible and iconoclastic Ari Up, the band has inspired generations of artists, from Sonic Youth to Sleater Kinney. Drawing on stunning personal archives and including interviews with key surviving band members Tessa Pollitt, Viv Albertine and original drummer Paloma McLardy (aka Palmolive). "AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING!" - Kathleen Hanna There will be a Q&A following this screening. Tessa Pollitt & director William Badgley will be in attendance. Part of the The Sound Screen Music & Film Festival 2018.
