Documentary on the life of Milford Beeghly, a farmer who helped pioneer genetically enhanced crops in the 1930s. Directed by Beeghly's grandson, Monteith McCollum, the film uses archive footage and interviews with Beeghly to reconstruct the life of a man who was obsessed with finding a way to enhance the natural processes of corn. A larger than life figure, Beeghly put up with the mockery of his work as 'plant incest' by the local community and tension within his family to pursue his vision.
