If You See God, Tell Him Film Poster

All four episodes of the satirical black comedy series starring Richard Briers, in a departure from his usual cosy sitcoms, as a man who, after a freak accident, is left with a 30-second attention span. After Godfrey Spry (Briers) receives serious injuries when a load of rubble falls on his head, he spends most of his time watching television commercials - these being short enough for him to follow all the way through - believing them all to be true. Watching a car ad one day, he decides to test it for himself, driving it along a cliff-top at high speed, resulting in him being paralysed. As his erratic behavior escalates, he manages to further complicate the lives of those around him, particularly his long-suffering nephew Gordon (Adrian Edmondson), and Gordon's wife Muriel (Imelda Staunton), who, despite all the irritation, soldier on valiantly.
