At the beginning of the 20th Century, British writer Elinor Glyn made a name for herself across America with her salacious prose style. This adaptation of her own Cosmopolitan short story not only enhanced her reputation for chronicling modern sexual mores, but also made a star of Clara Bow, Paramount Studio's 'It' girl. The plot uses a misunderstanding over the parentage of an orphaned baby as a pretext for exposing the scandalous exploits of the 20s flapper, as embodied by Bow. Gary Cooper also features in one of his first screen roles.
