Hindi-language film in which a childless midwife and her husband steal half a pair of twins at birth. Leela (Shubha Khote) is a midwife unable to have her own children. So, when the opportunity arises to snatch a twin at birth and tell the parents they only had one, the temptation proves too great to resist. The mother dies in birth and her husband is left to raise his child alone. Leela and her husband do a fair job of raising Kanhaiya (Anil Kapoor), their stolen child, but Sunder Das (Shreeram Lagoo), the true parent, fares rather poorly with Kishen, the other twin. He marries a lady with a questionable past and is offended when he starts to find out just how questionable. Kishen (also Kapoor) is treated abysmally by the new wife and her brother, who plot to get their paws on his inheritance. Kishen runs away and, in the kerfuffle, the harridan and her brother capture Kanhaiya thinking he is Kishen.
