Johnny To directs this Cantonese-language drama starring Siu-Fai Cheung and Ka Tung Lam. An ex-police officer's psychic gift comes to his department's aid when a cop's missing firearm is linked to a series of murders. Thrown out of the police force after he sliced off half an ear as a gift to his departing boss, Inspector Bun (Ching Wan Lau) now lives on the periphery of society. Always seen as a bit mad by his fellow officers, Bun believes he possesses a psychic ability that enables him to see the hidden personalities and desires of the people around him. In his former job the visions helped him to solve much of his caseload, but now his gift only seems to torment him. However, when his former colleague Inspector Ho (Andy On) is handed the difficult case of tracking down a missing policeman whose gun has been used in recent murders, Bun is only too eager to help.
